PFS Australia volunteers at The Wayside Chapel

The PFS Australia team participated recently in a very rewarding ‘Awayside Days’ charity event, hosted by The Wayside Chapel. With the lead up to Christmas, the social committee in Sydney wanted to offer some practical volunteering for a service that would help them give back to the communities in which we live and work, by rolling up their sleeves and getting involved. By participating in this event, the PFS team prepared a three-course meal for more than 60 Wayside Chapel service visitors, including the homeless, people suffering from domestic violence, drug and alcohol addiction, mental health issues and/or from vulnerable groups. Sadly, there are many women and children who are homeless and seek help at the Wayside Chapel, as well as Australian aboriginals. The Wayside Chapel is not a religious place; their mission is to create community without judgement – Love Over Hate being their motto.
